Position Description

Founded in 2006, Microvast is an innovator of Li-ion battery technology.  We continue to succeed due to the passion, focus, and expertise of our people, and we now need a Senior Logistics Manager to manage the multiple logistics requirements we have across North America including delivery of prototype and production product, manufacturing equipment, raw materials and inter-plant transfers while working with freight forwarders and domestic freight carriers to ensure delivery at the best cost and consistent reliability. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide strategy and oversight with domestic and international logistics service providers to deliver both internal and external customer requirements.
  • Provide financial updates and recommendations that improve operational results and profitability.
  • Create, develop, and monitor KPI metrics for all logistics needs to include cost, tracking and delivery. Provide updates and recommendations for the company.
  • Develop additional vendor relationships and drive negotiations to ensure targeted cost savings.
  • Develop and maintain a scorecard to track all deliveries including product, raw material, and equipment.
  • Participate in freight forwarder and carrier reviews and audits.
  • Liaise between sales, production, and R&D to ensure that all deliveries are done via the most cost-effective method and tracked and reported upon as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics planning, international transportation operations, and project management
  • Must have experience in multiple roles throughout the logistics spectrum including multiple modes of transportation, performing RFP, freight forwarder comparison, Incoterms, DGR, and HTS codes.
  • Demonstrated project and budget management skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions to problems.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills and effectively communicate with all levels of management.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus in a high-pressure environment.
