Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, managing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting processes, financial period closing reporting, and tax compliance, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records using QuickBooks.
  • Record financial transactions, including accounts receivable, and payroll entries.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, adjusting entries, and closing entries as necessary.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis to identify areas of improvement and potential risks.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis findings.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors during tax audits and financial audits.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging, invoicing and provide assistance to sales organization in the collection of overdue accounts.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field with accounting concentration
  • CPA required
  • 5 years of experience working in corporate accounting roles. This experience should involve financial reporting, managing accounts, and potentially leading junior staff.
  • Excellent communication skills to present findings and collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.
  • The ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and interpret financial results.
  • Expertise in financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and closing procedures.
  • The ability to solve complex accounting issues and ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks and SAP
